Professor Manuel Pérez-Ruiz
Specialized in Precision Agriculture and in the application of new technologies to agricultural production. He has developed much of his scientific work at the University of California, Davis (USA). He currently coordinates two research projects, one of the Excellence Program of the Andalusian Government and the other subject to the State Research Program.
He is an expert in the “Focal Group on Digitization and Big Data in the Agrifood and Forestry Sector and in the Rural Environment” and also participates in the “S3P Agri-food Partnership on Traceability and Big Data” led by Andalusia.
Manuel Losada Villasante’ 2016 Award for Excellence in Research in the Agri-food Area.
Research lines
These are some of the main lines of research in which Professor Manuel has been working in recent years.
He develops his work mainly in the field of agricultural data, automation, drones for agriculture and the training of new professional profiles.

In the last 5 years Manuel Pérez-Ruiz has achieved 18 publications indexed in JCR, Science Edition, of ISI. One of them has received the international award “EurAgEng Outstanding Paper Adwards 2014”.
