Meet the Greenbot

The objective of the GreenBot Operational Group is to carry out the integration and fielding of a modular autonomous vehicle that, supported by backbone technologies such as 5G, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence (AI), allows the development of a new intervention model for the protection of woody crops based on autonomous mobility, energy efficiency and data, all with a focus on pay-per-use.

To achieve this objective, the development and integration of an electric agricultural vehicle is proposed, together with an AI-based artificial vision system and a precision phytosanitary product application module that applies individually and in real time to existing weeds, optimizing inputs.

Autonomous vehicle

Likewise, these components will have to be integrated with the autonomous vehicle control software managed through the uPathWay cloud platform, which, based on the technological advantages provided by 5G in terms of real-time communications, security and minimum latency, will allow the circulation of vehicles through the work areas to carry out the protection task and will improve the sustainability (social, economic and environmental) of the overall solution.

Lines of development

To achieve these objectives, the following lines of development are proposed.

  • Development and implementation of an autonomous agricultural vehicle on which the woody crop protection system will be deployed.
  • Development of the woody crop protection module based on artificial vision with AI for the identification of weeds and their neutralization by the precision phytosanitary product application module.
  • Integration with the uPathWay cloud management platform for mobile platforms that, applying 5G to communications, will allow intelligent control of the vehicle on a pay-per-use basis.
